Slam Madhvani who tasted success with his Filmfare Award-winning OTT venture ‘Aarya’, may simply be getting ready to push the barriers of storytelling with his aggressive new historical drama. Buzz is that the widely praised movie producer who has worked on films like the Sonam Kapoor starrer ‘Neerja’ and the Kartik Aaryan-lead ‘Dhamaka’, will currently turn around the pages of the history books for a web series dependent on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Sources near the project tell ETimes, “Ram Madhvani is working on his next original web series based on Jallianwala Bagh. It is tentatively titled ‘Jallianwala Bagh: The Waking Of A Nation’. The series that will soon go into production this year is based on research from the Hunter Commission that was formed to investigate what really happened in Punjab, especially at Jallianwala Bagh.”
“It is created by Madhvani and is one of the projects he is going to be producing under his banner Ram Madhvani Films,” the source adds.
Information on Madhvani’s project comes not long after Bollywood chief Karan Johar reported his new film which will likewise be founded on the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. The producer revealed that the film will capture real-life events and will be helmed by Karan Singh Tyagi.
