Google Cloud Enhances AI Collaboration with Orange

Addition of generative AI (GenAI) use cases to enhance customer experiences and maintain national boundaries for sensitive data is part of Google Cloud and Orange’s expanded partnership.

Together with Orange, the cloud provider provided AI-based local services that met security and data residency regulations, as well as those that applied to locations that needed localized cloud environments.

Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) is a platform that brings Google Cloud’s AI services to the network edge for workloads requiring a lot of data. Orange and Google Cloud collaborated to plan it.

The companies mentioned that Orange will be able to integrate AI more quickly into its operations throughout the 26 countries it serves thanks to GDC.

The automation of reporting, classification, and analysis will help Orange maintain local data while also enhancing network planning and design.

Via an environment integrated into Vertex AI services on Google Cloud, the operator will be able to run GenAI models on-premises.

To introduce generative AI agents, Vertex AI connects enterprise data, systems, and procedures with custom models that it accesses, enhances, and deploys for partners and organizations.

The artificial intelligence models Orange’s operations and customer service teams are using to solve issues more quickly will provide better quality service and faster resolutions for Orange’s customers.

Personalized recommendations for phones, tariffs, and services will also be provided by the operator via AI and Google Cloud technology.

Orange serves every nation, including those without a Google Cloud region, by enabling GenAI-based speech recognition through GDC.

Through the partnership, Orange’s data centers will now have cloud-based security for sensitive workloads that must remain on-site, as well as the ability to filter large amounts of network telemetry data.

According to Orange CEO Christel Heydemann, “achieving AI at scale and is a major step towards unlocking significant value from all of our data” is made possible by the AI-based services by Google Cloud.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian observed that companies were moving GenAI services closer to the network edge in order to increase agility, responsiveness, and resilience. He this created opportunities for new use cases throughout Orange’s footprint.

The companies first teamed-up in 2020 as part of a plan to power Orange’s digital transformation using data and AI.
