Google offers three months of free GeForce Now cloud gaming to Chromebook users

Google announced that all users of Chromebooks can get three months of GeForce Now for free. The majority of Chromebook users will receive a GeForce Now Priority membership, which regularly costs $10 per month, while owners of Cloud Gaming Chromebooks will have access to the Ultimate tier, which typically costs $20 per month. The offer is being linked by the firm to the debut of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Nvidia’s cloud gaming platform.

GeForce Now Priority, which utilises a “premium rig” in the cloud and is optimised for 1080p/60 FPS streaming and six-hour gaming sessions, is available for three months to regular Chromebook customers. The GeForce Now Ultimate subscription, which enhances performance to an RTX 4080, 4K resolution, 120 FPS, and eight-hour sessions, is available for three months to purchasers of Cloud Gaming Chromebooks.

After nearly five years in development, GeForce Now was made available to the general public in 2020. It provides fast access to a computer with several times the processing power of a Chromebook without the need for updates, patches, or graphic settings. To stream the games from Nvidia’s servers, you’ll obviously need at least a reasonably fast and low-latency internet connection.

When compared to competitors like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and the now-defunct Stadia, building and using your collection on Nvidia’s service can be a little cumbersome: To check which of your purchased titles are eligible, you’ll need to connect your Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, or Ubisoft Connect store accounts (among others). When you know which shops are compatible with the games you still want to add, you can stream the ones you currently possess. The GeForce Now library page from Nvidia is a good place to start: By enabling you to search the service’s database of more than 1,500 help titles, it streamlines the procedure.

The only information Google has provided about the promotion’s duration is that it is only valid for a short period of time. Owners of Chromebooks can redeem the deal on this “special perks” page.
