Kapil Talwalkar joins the NBC sequel pilot ‘Night Court’

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’s Kapil Talwalkar has been tapped as a series regular in NBC’s half-hour pilot Night Court, a development to the classic legal comedy series that is featured and executive produced by Melissa Rauch, with the original series’ John Larroquette repeating his Emmy-winning role.

Composed/leader produced by Dan Rubin dependent on the original series made by Reinhold Weege, the multi-camera Night Court centers on unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (Rauch), the girl of the late Harry Stone, who emulates her father’s footsteps as she directs the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and attempts to bring order to its crew of weirdos and critics, most notably former night court examiner Dan Fielding (Larroquette).

Talwalkar will play Neil. As the court’s agent, he must keep things moving — a task that got significantly harder since a new idealist judge showed up.

On the original series, there were two court clerks. Lana Wagner was played by Karen Austin in Season 1. She was prevailed by Charles Robinson who played Macintosh “Mac” Robinson in Seasons 2-9.

In addition to Rauch and Larroquette, Talwalkar joins recently cast Lacretta and Ana Villafañe.

Melissa Rauch and Winston Rauch leader produce through their After January creation organization; Larroquette is a maker. After January produces in association with Warner Bros. TV and Universal Television.

Talwalkar is coming off his job as Tobin in NBC’s melodic dramedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. He began as a repetitive in Season 1 and was increased to a series ordinary in Season 2, which as of late wrapped its run on the broadcast network.

Following Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’s cancellation by NBC on June 9, Talwalkar has been sought after. The organization and WBTV caught him for Night Court following he authoritatively opened up when the choices on the Zoey’s cast lapsed last week and were not reached out by lead studio Lionsgate Television, which keeps on investigating options for another installment as a series, miniseries or film.

Talwalkar additionally lends his voice to Nickelodeon’s The Loud House, where he visitor stars as Raj. He recently did the pilots Arranged for Pop and False Profits for ABC. On the film side, he starred in the indie feature Americanish. Talwalkar is repped by Industry Entertainment and SMS Talent.
