Welcome to Mustafa Suleyman, who is now the CEO of Microsoft’s artificial intelligence (AI) venture! Microsoft CEO and chairman Satya Nadella extended a warm welcome to Suleyman. With Suleyman leading research and development efforts for consumer AI products and platforms like Copilot, Bing, and Edge, Microsoft AI has made a major advancement with his appointment.

With excitement in his voice, Nadella posted on X to welcome everyone to Microsoft. “Delighted to have you spearhead Microsoft AI as we create widely loved and useful consumer AI, such as Copilot.”

Suleyman was the co-founder and director of applied AI at DeepMind, a well-known AI company that Google eventually purchased, before coming to Microsoft. After working there for a while, he decided to start Inflection AI in 2022, a machine learning and generative AI company.

In addition to sharing his opinions about the shift, Suleyman spoke to his fans on X, introducing Karen Simonyan as the new Chief Scientist and thanking his devoted team for joining him on this journey.

On Inflection AI’s future, Suleyman declared that the organization will remain dedicated to its goal under the new management. His plans included opening up its API to developers and companies worldwide in order to increase its reach.

Suleyman gave a retrospective of his previous achievements, highlighting his critical role in co-founding DeepMind Technologies, an AI and machine learning enterprise supported by prominent individuals such as Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, and Founders’ Fund as well. When Google purchased DeepMind in 2014 for an alleged 400 million pounds, the acquisition made headlines.
