On FX, ‘Mayans MC’ renewed for Season 4

FX will keep riding with Mayans MC.

The Disney-owned cable network has renewed the biker drama for a fourth season. The pickup comes seven days in front of the show’s third-season finale, booked for May 11; season four is set to air in 2022.

Co-maker Elgin James took over as showrunner of Mayans MC in season three, after Kurt Sutter was fired from FX in October 2019. The show has stayed among FX’s most watched shows in its third season, however its numbers (like most different shows on direct TV) have declined a few.

“Elgin James, his creative collaborators, this incredible cast and crew delivered on another epic season of Mayans MC,” said Nick Grad, president original programming at FX Entertainment. “Through three seasons, Mayans has told stories that resonate well beyond the border where the club thrives and survives, inviting fans inside their world and giving them a seat at the table.”

Said James, “I am deeply indebted to everyone at FX and 20th for allowing us to continue to tell the stories of the characters that Kurt and I created and whom our cast and crew took to new heights in season three. In season four we look forward to diving deeper into each character’s truths, exploring the danger of the combustible world they inhabit, and for each writer, castmember and crew to stake out our place as storytellers.”

Through eight episodes this season, Mayans MC is averaging 741,000 same-day watchers per scene, a figure that ordinarily pairs inside three days.

Disney’s 20th Television, where James has a general arrangement, and FX Productions produce the arrangement. James executive produces with Michael Dinner; Sutter additionally stays credited as an EP.
