“Dhoom” director Sanjay Gadhvi died on Sunday morning at his house here, his elder daughter Sanjina said. He was once 56.
Gadhvi, who used to be three days shy away from his 57th birthday, is great recognised for helming two blockbuster hits in the Yash Raj Films’ “Dhoom” franchise — “Dhoom” (2004) and “Dhoom 2” (2006).
According to Gadhvi’s daughter, the director was once “perfectly healthy”.
“He exceeded away at 9.30 am this morning at his residence. We are no longer certain what it is, however it is most probable a coronary heart attack. He wasn’t unwell, he used to be flawlessly healthy.”
Gadhvi made his directorial debut in 2000 with “Tere Liye”, which he accompanied up with 2002’s “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai”, his first venture with Yash Raj Films.
Besides Sanjini, Gadhvi is survived by way of his spouse and some other daughter.
Actor Abhishek Bachchan on Sunday penned an emotional tribute to filmmaker Sanjay Gadhvi with whom he had labored on two videos Dhoom and Dhoom 2.
The actor, who performed the function of assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Jai Dixit in each movies, wrote that he was once stunned to hear the information of Gadvi’s death.
“I took this image of Sanjay even as we had been filming the climax of Dhoom two in South Africa. We made two videos collectively – Dhoom and Dhoom 2,” Abhishek Bachchan wrote on X, previously Twitter, and shared two pictures.
“Sanju, when I spoke to you final week and we had been reminiscing about our shoots and recollections I would in no way have imagined even in my craziest goals that I would have to write a submit like this. I’m stunned past belief,” the actor added.
The junior Bachchan stated he would constantly cherish Sanjay Gadhvi for having trust in him and assisting him supply his first hit film. “You had trust in me, even when I didn’t. You gave me my first-ever hit!!! I can in no way ever forget about that or be in a position to specific what it supposed to me. I will cherish your friendship always. Rest in peace, my brother,” he wrote.
