The Android logo, including the wordmark and robot head, is updated by Google.

Google has updated the Android logo with a new wordmark and a 3D version of the iconic Android robot head. For the latter, you might have noticed that the “Android” name now has a capital “A” as opposed to the lower-case “A” that had been used in the Android wordmark for a few years. The robot head now appears to have some depth, and the letters “n” and “r” are completely rounded, as they were in 2008 and 2014.

“We’re showcasing some elements of our new brand identity on various surfaces, including our CES booth from earlier this year and other campaign materials like digital and banner ads,” the company told 9to5 Google. We’ll have more to partake before very long.” When Android 14’s final, stable version is released in August, we should see the changes. The old robot head and the lowercase “A” Android wordmark are displayed on the boot screen, which currently reads “Powered by Android.”

A pair of print ads featuring the brand-new wordmark and robot head were recently released by Google. Switching from iOS to Android is the focus of both ads.

Organizations like Google and Apple give a lot of thought to their logos and wordmarks since they are normally found in promotions, yet in addition tracked down on the organization’s items. For instance, the iPhone’s apple logo on the back is well-known to everyone. An iPhone 11 Pro sold for a premium a few years ago because the logo was printed off center in a printing error. The price of that particular unit was $2,700, or 2.7 times the average cost of the device.

Before appearing in Android 14, the new branding might first appear in advertisements on television. Android 14 Beta 3.1 is the build that certain Pixel users currently have access to. Google will have to spend a lot of money replacing signs like the one at the top of this story because of the new logo and wordmark.
