The Elec: The iPhone 16 Pro will introduce UD Face ID, while all iPhone 15 models will feature Dynamic Island

The Dynamic Island pill-shaped cutout from the iPhone 14 Pro series will reportedly be added to all iPhone 15 models, including the non-Pro iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, according to a recent claim from The Elec. According to the new newspaper, Apple has already placed orders with several of its component suppliers, including Samsung Display, which in turn purchased gear from Philoptics, another South Korean business, for KRW 24.1 billion ($19.3 million). According to reports, the order is for etching machinery used to make Dynamic Island displays.

Future contracts with additional businesses are anticipated by Samsung Display as a means of managing the rising demand from Apple for Dynamic Island displays. The Elec also thinks that Apple may eventually introduce an Under Display (UD) Face ID option for the iPhone 16 Pro series. On how the full-screen solution will be implemented, no additional information was provided.

Older speculations said Samsung Display might work with OTI Lumionics, which is creating a new generation of UD camera with a patented organic cathode patterning material for the best clarity above the camera and sensors, in a partnership. These rumours suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro series would use the UD Face ID system, although it seems improbable.
