Ektaa Kapoor declared on Instagram that she and her mother Shobha Kapoor will no longer be leading Alt Balaji.
One of the most recognisable figures in the business is Ektaa Kapoor, whose production company, Balaji Telefilms, oversaw a number of blockbuster television series. Along with her mother Shobha Kapoor, Ekta cofounded Alt Balaji in 2017 to create web series and original films. Ektaa and Shobha are both leaving their jobs at Alt Balaji, according to the most recent press release. Many others were caught off guard by the news.
According to the press statement published by Alt Balaji, “Ektaa R. Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor have resigned from their roles as the company’s leaders, according to an official announcement made today by AltBalaji, one of India’s top digital entertainment platforms. Although the transition process to step down began last year, Alt Balaji now has a team to do so. This choice to concentrate on their business endeavours is strategic.”
Ektaa shared the news on Instagram with the caption, “Good luck team #alt. I’ll always share your posts and help out if I can! Let’s congratulate the new leadership. The Balaji empire, which also includes Balaji Telefilms and Balaji Motion Pictures, is run by Ektaa and her mother Shobha. Productions by Alt Balaji include XXX and Gandii Baat. Sonam Kapoor responded to Ektaa’s post in the following way: “You are the very best. adore you” Sussane Khan also commented, “To greater conquest my friend full power to you and Alt Balaji to grow bigger and stronger (heart emoticons)” Many commented whether Gandii Baat and the sequel to Lock Upp will be announced or not.
