Theta Labs Unveils Theta EdgeCloud Alongside Additional AI Models



Theta Labs has declared that Theta EdgeCloud’s release is getting closer. With the AI-backed model nearing completion, Theta Labs will declare the launch date. It will enable programmers to use widely used generative AI and substantial language models. Stable Diffusion and Llama 2 are examples of this. Developers will also have the option to use models that they have specially tailored to fulfill a particular function.

Business use cases will be powered by key GPU resources such as NVIDIA A100s, T4s, and V100s. Google Gemma-7B, ControlNet, and OpenAI Whisper are just a few of the additional AI models that will be released with Theta EdgeCloud.

Theta Labs revealed to the public nearly two months ago that efforts were underway to commercialize the next generation of artificial intelligence computing. It was created in the final days of February 2024. At the time, Theta EdgeCloud was described as cutting-edge peripheral computing software.

On May 1, 2024, the first phase might launch. The date is indicated on the roadmap, but it could change. Having a system in place that allows developers to manage the entire AI pipeline construction process is the aim.

The launch of EdgeCloud is anticipated by a large number of community members. Theta Labs has stated that it is committed to supporting 3D rendering tasks, which could be one reason. The objective is to support tasks involving text-to-3D generative rendering. Two stages make up this division.

In the first stage, low-resolution 3S mesh optimization is done, and the second stage is only activated when the task requires the use of high-performance EdgeCloud GPUs.

When it last updated, Theta Labs said that its global edge network, comprising more than 10,000 nodes, would support the impending launch. By supporting desktops running various operating systems, the intention is to democratize distributed computing power (Microsoft, Linux, and Mac). CUDA technology will support GPU computation, especially on Windows devices. As a result, users will be able to use their computer power for tasks beyond basic graphics processing.

For Theta, which seeks to increase desktop and laptop GPU computing capacity, that is a critical turning point. Biden, Kishida Secure Support from Amazon and Nvidia for $50 Million Joint AI Research Program

In addition to the university-led projects, Microsoft Corp. announced on Tuesday that it would invest $2.9 billion to expand its cloud computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Japan. Brad Smith, the president of Microsoft, met with Kishida on Tuesday. The company released a statement announcing its intention to establish a new AI and robotics lab in Japan.

Kishida, the second-largest economy in Asia, urged American business executives to invest more in Japan’s developing technologies on Tuesday.

“Your investments will enable Japan’s economic growth — which will also be capital for more investments from Japan to the US,” Kishida said at a roundtable with business leaders in Washington.

Meta Explores AI-Enabled Search Bar on Instagram



In an attempt to expand the user base for its generative AI-powered products, Meta is moving forward. The business is experimenting with inserting Meta AI into the Instagram search bar for both chat with AI and content discovery, in addition to testing the chatbot Meta AI with users in nations like India on WhatsApp.
