A Google Bard Advanced leak suggests that ChatGPT's competitor would soon arrive

A recent leak suggests that the release of Google Bard’s Advanced tier may occur sooner than anticipated, and that it won’t be free either.

Actually, it’s not really a “leak” as much as the corporation put a number of hints on its website that, with some effort, anyone could locate. That’s how X (the site formerly known as Twitter) developer Bedros Pamboukian discovered coding hints pointing to the impending release of Bard Advanced. The revelation is intriguing since it indicates that Google One will come with the enhanced AI, and if you purchase a subscription, you may test it out for three months for free.

Bard Advanced is a little bit of a buzz because it will be powered by Google’s most advanced Gemini Ultra model. The company claims in a December announcement post that Gemini Ultra is made to handle “extremely complex tasks and accept multimodal inputs.” Another leak from user Dylan Roussel on X suggests that the chatbot will have “advanced math and reasoning skills,” which supports this theory.

It’s unclear if there will be a new Google One tier for Bard Advanced or which one users will need to purchase in order to obtain access. A price is not revealed by either leak. If I had to guess, though, I might have to go with the $10/month Premium plan. It seems reasonable that Google would set a high entry barrier given the level of interest in AI.

Possible characteristics

Returning to the Roussel leak, it discloses numerous further capabilities that Google Bard might or might not get. Either way, “they may never land at all” or things could change.

First, the AI’s tool might make it feasible to build personalized bots. Regarding them, not much information exists. We’re not sure what they do or whether they can be shared. All we know is that the bots go by the pseudonym Motoko collectively.

It looks like Bard will get a few more tools after that. You have Gallery, which is a collection of freely accessible prompts on various subjects that visitors can peruse to generate ideas. Tasks comes next. Although Roussel acknowledges that he was unable to locate much information about it, he believes that it will be “used to manage long-running tasks such as” picture generation.

It is said that the final one, Power Up, can enhance text prompts. Again, there’s not a lot of information available. No idea how to create the backgrounds, if that’s even possible, or even how to power up a text prompt. Definitely isn’t easy to say.

It is unlikely that users will have to wait long to see the whole picture. These were concealed on Google’s website, so the official release must be approaching soon.

Biden, Kishida Secure Support from Amazon and Nvidia for $50 Million Joint AI Research Program

The push for greater research into artificial intelligence comes as the Biden administration is weighing a series of new regulations designed to minimize the risks of AI technology, which has developed as a key focus for tech companies. The White House announced late last month that federal agencies have until the end of the year to determine how they will assess, test, and monitor the impact of government use of AI technology.

In addition to the university-led projects, Microsoft Corp. announced on Tuesday that it would invest $2.9 billion to expand its cloud computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Japan. Brad Smith, the president of Microsoft, met with Kishida on Tuesday. The company released a statement announcing its intention to establish a new AI and robotics lab in Japan.

Kishida, the second-largest economy in Asia, urged American business executives to invest more in Japan’s developing technologies on Tuesday.

“Your investments will enable Japan’s economic growth — which will also be capital for more investments from Japan to the US,” Kishida said at a roundtable with business leaders in Washington.

Meta Explores AI-Enabled Search Bar on Instagram



In an attempt to expand the user base for its generative AI-powered products, Meta is moving forward.
