Published

on

WWDC2024, which is slated for June 10, is the first event that Apple has planned for the year. Anticipatedly, the occasion will unveil the new iOS 18, which will power the upcoming iOS devices, including iPhones and iPads. Apple has kept the specifics under wraps as usual, but it’s anticipated that the upcoming announcement will also include a number of AI features.

iOS 18 Incorporates Humane AI Pin

There’s been a lot of talk about the next OS update, and it’s even possible that iOS 18 will include Humane AI Pin, the wearable multi-modal device that’s the next generation of AI for easy communication, moment capture, and task management.

With this feature, users can communicate more easily by having long text messages on Apple devices condensed into brief summaries.

According to a report by Apple Insider, text summarization will be implemented in iOS 18 by utilizing Apple’s cutting-edge AI technology. This will also make use of advanced algorithms to find important information in texts and improve user efficiency and comprehension.

Messages Integration with Safari

Users will be able to summarize content from multiple sources, such as webpages and digital documents, thanks to the iOS 18 text summarization feature, which is anticipated to work seamlessly with Messages and Safari. Further demonstrating Apple’s dedication to a seamless user experience will be this cross-platform functionality.

Code from iOS 17.4 Contains Evidence

Early in the year 2024, hints about the revolutionary features of iOS 18 emerged when a new framework named “SiriSummarization” was found in the code of iOS 17.4.

Complementing the conjectures is a “Safari Browsing Assistant” that proposes an all-encompassing method of information management.

Focus on Privacy and Offline Functionality

In addition to guaranteeing functionality even when it is offline, Apple has placed a high priority on user privacy. The text summarization function in iOS 18 is supposed to function without an internet connection, protecting user privacy.

What’s more?

Fans are getting more and more excited about iOS 18’s impending official release, and they will keep pushing for the full potential of its text summarization feature.

Just by introducing the Humane AI pin, Apple will show that it is dedicated to improving user experiences that are consistent with protecting privacy.

As the race to build artificial intelligence processors heats up, Samsung Electronics has replaced the leader of its semiconductor division.

In an unexpected announcement made by the business on Tuesday, Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun has been named head of Samsung’s device solutions division. The company’s foundry, memory, and system semiconductor divisions are managed under the device solutions division.

“Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun is the key player who took Samsung Electronics’ memory semiconductor and battery businesses to the global top-tier level,” the company stated in a news release.

Samsung is making this announcement as it battles to overtake its regional rival SK Hynix in the market for AI memory chips. When it comes to high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips, which are essential for AI computing, SK Hynix is in the lead.

According to Samsung, if the board and shareholders approve, Jun may also be named as the company’s chief executive. Samsung has two chief executive officers: one leads the company’s semiconductor division, while the other oversees its mobile and visual display businesses.

Before taking on the role of chief executive of Samsung SDI, the company’s battery division, Jun led Samsung’s memory chip business team for three years, from 2014 to 2017. In 2000, he made his debut as a member of Samsung’s memory chip business team.

Kyung Kye-hyun, who oversaw the semiconductor branch since2022, is replaced by Jun. During the memory chip market collapse, the division under his direction reported billion-dollar losses. The 61-year-old Kyung has been posting lengthy and in-depth posts on social media platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram about subjects including technology and climate change.
